Celebrating Black History Month Through Music

Join us as we celebrate black history month with music from African American composers such as Beesley Smith, William Grant Still and Basile Jean Bares (the slave composer). Voices and Instruments – including recorders, guitars and drums – will lift up little-known and familiar music from the 19th and 20th centuries. With songs such as Juba Dance and Swing Lo, Sweet Chariot we will make joyful noise in true jubilee style.
