Jason Priset

Bio

Dr. Jason Priset is Montclair Early Music’s conductor and an internationally recognized musician who has performed throughout the United States and the world. He specializes in lute and guitar-related instruments. He has a Doctorate of Musical Arts and Master of Music from Stony Brook University as well as a Bachelor of Music from the State University of New York at Fredonia. Recently, he completed Formació Continuada (advanced training) at Escola Superior Musica Universidad de Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain. Dr. Priset has appeared in concert through the Chamber Music Society of Detroit, Great Music in a Great Space, and Midtown Concerts, including at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine and Alice Tully Hall in New York City. He’s also performed in Spain at L’Auditori and Museu de la Música and has appeared with such groups as Brandywine Baroque, Early Music New York, Newton Baroque, LOFT Opera, Piffaro: The Renaissance Band, Stony Brook Opera, and Voyces of Staten Island. Currently Dr. Priset is on faculty at Montclair State University, a regular faculty and performer at the Amherst Early Music, and is the Director of the Lute Society of America Festival.
